2004, being a (6) year takes us firmly into the realm of my most favourite place, namely, the North, that is, the BATTLEFIELD, the place of ACTION and of MATERIALISATION! :) Many will argue in terms of, "But we are always on the battlefield, so what makes THIS year any different?" True! The warrior IS always meeting one challenge after another, every day of his or her life, but it is not always that we have the opportunity of being able to do so with the SUPPORT that comes from the VIBRATION of a (6) year! By this I am NOT implying that a (6) year is MORE important than any other year! I am merely saying that at no other time is a warrior's strength of purpose and intent tested more severely than within a (6) year, for always within this vibration we are brought hard up against having to CHOOSE BETWEEN THE OLD and THE NEW! The (6) DEMANDS, not only that we CHOOSE with great CARE at every turn in the road, but even more importantly, that we make DEFINITIVE DECISIONS that change forever the course of our lives! What can possibly be more exhilarating and exciting than this? The warrior lives by challenge, and therefore he or she SAVOURS every moment of every step taken towards IRREVOCABLE CHANGE! This is the very meaning within what is termed dancing the edge! Whenever faced with having to choose between the Old and the New, average man because of his fear, tends to shrink AWAY from the challenge, away from the edge, towards what he deems to be safer ground, and thus if given the chance to do so, will always choose for the safety of the KNOWN, the Old, rather than to run the risk of going over the edge!
But there is nothing new to be gained from remaining within the relative safety of the KNOWN! There is no creativity! There is no skill in action! There is no joy! By remaining within the KNOWN we can at very best keep on PERFECTING REPRODUCTION! We can at best keep on PERFECTING our BEHAVIOUR, our VIEW OF THE WORLD and our SELF-IMAGE as we strive towards PERFECTING our SKILL at ducking and diving our challenges in an effort to PERFECT the RE-ENACTMENT of our FOLLY! Oh yes, we can say, we can even shout and scream that we DO WANT to change, and we can even DEMAND that others RESPECT the levels of PERFECTION we DO acquire at REPRODUCTION! But MODIFICATION of behaviour is NOT change! The acquisition of a broader, more all-encompassing and therefore more tolerant view of the world is NOT change! The strengthening of a self-image is NOT change! Gaining skill in HOW we re-enact our folly is also NOT change! And deep down inside we know that all such so-called changes are not REAL changes, but merely COSMETIC changes that enable us to JUSTIFY our fear of bringing about DEFINITIVE CHANGE. Consequently none of this ever brings us any real joy, but at best a few fleeting moments of transitory happiness. But even within those fleeting moments of happiness our hearts never sing, and we can sense that just now, tomorrow or next week we will again feel consumed by an utter sense of melancholy, despair, apathy and a dull sense of inner longing for an elusive fulfillment that gnaws away at the mind!
No warrior can willfully and deliberately CHOOSE such an existence! And so for the warrior there is only ONE choice that he or she CAN make, and that is to LEARN to embrace the NEW in LEARNING to LIVE on the edge! This he or she does by MEASURED PACE, meaning ACTING AS IF, which also means not-doing the OLD in choosing the relative safety of the KNOWN! In time that acting as if leads to the PERSONAL POWER and the SELF-CONFIDENCE needed in order to TRULY ACT from the HEART, and then the warrior begins to DANCE the edge as the world of fluidity, true skill in action, creativity, spontaneity and joy start to come within his GRASP! And with that GRASP the warrior finally KNOWS what it is to stand FREE from the debilitating restraints of his or her self-image so as to ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE within the process of life, and what it is to stand FREE from the encumbering limitations of his or her view of the world so as to be able to PASSIVELY ACCEPT the process of life, HIS or HER life, a unit of the ONE LIFE, the nagal within! There is no greater JOY than to know the meaning of true LOVE; and there is no greater PEACE than to know the meaning of true HUMILITY! With that love and with that humility comes the FREEDOM to BE truly ALIVE! B-:)
So, as you can see, for the warrior who finds his clarity in the East, who listens to his heart in the West, who gathers his courage in the South, life is only worth LIVING when he is challenged upon the battlefield of the North to USE his clarity, his heart and his courage in MATERIALISING his FATE upon earth! Of what use is clarity, or feeling, or courage, if we never USE it in the MATERIALISATION of our dreams? And how are we to materialize anything unless we ACT? But how can we act when we have NO DESIRE to choose for the NEW? The OLD brings forth only RE-ENACTMENT, the RE-PRODUCTION of that which already exists!
And so we come back to the (6), the year ahead, 2004!
I have little doubt that because of where the world is at our challenges this year WILL BE severe, but if it is about learning to dance the edge, then is this not also a most marvelous SUPPORT? Warriors win battles, NOT because of having been granted mercy, or because of having been granted some quarter! No, my friends, warriors WIN battles when they are FORCED into having to FIGHT for their lives! Mercy and pity merely PAMPER the warrior in his or her WEAKNESSES, rather than to FORCE the warrior into HONING his or her STRENGTHS! And yet, if we wish to be truly objective we also see the SUPPORT we will be getting from power as we PRE-PARE to face this year's challenges! This support comes in the form of the (2) and the (4). (2) is the unfoldment of DESTINY through the medium of HUMILITY AND UNDERSTANDING.
Can we possibly ask for better support than this? I don't think so, provided, of course, that it is our intention to LIVE the humble and the under-standing life of the warrior! The (2) is a FEMININE force, and in this respect it is, from our angle as the DREAM of the DREAMER, the Great Mother that NURTURES the PURPOSE of the Unspeakable, the nagal! As it is within the family, it is at the KNEE of the Great Mother from whom we learn, not only the basic values of life, but also self-discipline and respect, respect for both the Self as well as for ALL of life around us! In having the Great Mother of All who is ever willing to guide us into unfolding our full potential, why would we feel the need to CLING to that old hag who lives in the rational mind and who always tries to manipulate us into remaining STUCK within the KNOWN of her territory, namely, Mother's Awareness? Unlike the Mother within, the Great Mother of All who is ever IN SUPPORT of the male, the spirit, wishes for each and every one of her children to claim their power and their freedom in the fulfillment of the One Purpose, Destiny, and therefore if we but OPEN ourselves to her guiding TOUCH we can always hear her quiet voice speaking softly within All of life around us! And if we CARE to LISTEN to her gentle voice we can always FEEL how the Mother in her NURTURES our strengths and our potential, whilst the Female in her SUPPORTS our every ACTION and tries her best to CONCEIVE and to BRING TO BIRTH our efforts at materialization of that which is good and beautiful and TRUE to the purpose of the One Life!
(4) is STABILITY, once again a truly marvelous support, and from our angle of the Dream of the Dreamer, (4) is also the Father, the INDWELLING SPIRIT, or more precisely, the BENEVOLENT DICTATOR, The Emperor! Therefore the (4) is a MASCULINE force demanding ACTION upon the battlefield of Life! If you look at the Tarot Card number 4 you will see that the RIGHT HAND of the Emperor is very much bigger and stronger than his left hand! This is not to say that The Emperor is unbalanced through ignoring his heart! No, on the contrary, what this means is that The Emperor has for SO LONG wielded his SWORD in ACTION in fighting to MATERIALISE the Purpose of the Unspeakable upon earth, that when it comes to TOUCHING Life, that is, left hand, there is NO NEED for anything other than the GENTLEST of HANDS resting lightly upon his sword belt. This is also the deeper meaning in the aphorism which refers to the warrior touching his world sparingly!
Furthermore, and as the Tarot card shows us, when the spirit within is IN-DEED in command, there is NO NEED for FORCE, for then the spirit can rule relaxed from his throne, holding aloft merely the scepter, symbol of the omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence of the Unspeakable made manifest! This in turn is the deeper meaning in the aphorism referring to the invincibility of the warrior once his command has become the command of the Eagle! But needless to say, should the little self wish to turn this natural order, this natural STABILITY into INERTIA, the spirit within is forced into having to take up his SWORD and to challenge us upon the battlefield of life through what is known as the Law of Retribution, a subsidiary law of the Law of Cause and Effect! So the implications within the (4) are clear, not so? We either fight AGAINST our true SELVES and suffer the consequences; or else we strive to make the command of the Eagle our command!
But what exactly does it mean to make the command of the Eagle our command? This, my dear friends, IS what I have been trying to teach you since Day One! :) We can make this as COMPLICATED or as SIMPLE as we wish, but in the final analysis there is only ONE LAW, and ONE COMMAND, namely, INCLUSIVENESS! And this then brings us back to now FACING SQUARELY the deeper implications inherent within the (6). The full verbalization of the ideogram depicting THAT which we term the number 6, is CHOOSING BETWEEN THE OLD AND THE NEW THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF DIVINE INSPIRATION. Divine Inspiration says it all, and I am not here going to repeat what has already been explained in Volume V with infinite CARE! In this respect I wish only to STRESS the following:
The (6) is not only the Path with a Heart, but it is also in a MOST esoteric sense the Christ within! Expressing this SIMPLY it means that the ONLY true ACTION there is, is that ACTION which comes from the HEART in the MATERIALISATION of INCLUSIVENESS! Can I possibly say MORE than this? In this one statement I have given you EVERY-THING there is to give, for I have spoken the ONE TRUTH! I am telling you this because I wish to STRESS that although I could go on AND on about all of this I would merely be KILLING with words THAT which can NEVER be verbalized! Why? Quite simply because IT can ONLY be REVEALED through ACTION, for the only true word there is, is The Word, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE IN ACTION, the Christ within made visible, The Light, The Way! To this end I can do no better than to direct you to the Tibetan's call to service, an INTELLIGENT RESPONSE to which is MUCH needed within the world, and now more so than ever before! What more can I say, other than to remind you of WHY I started this Group? :)
But, as the Tibetan points out, that which is NEEDED must be given freely and with joyful co-operation, something that only becomes possible when we shift the focus from the many likes and dislikes of the little self to seeing the true needs of the self as a unit of the greater whole! In other words, when we focus on the little self with a separative attitude we perceive our needs to be x,y,z, but when we shift the focus so as to see the little self as a unit of the One Life, we perceive our needs to be quite different, different in the sense that if we are to survive we CANNOT afford to be separative in our actions, physically, emotionally or mentally!
I will now read to you the Tibetan's call to service, but before I do so, just a few preliminary words. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the works of The Tibetan I will define the following few words:
The Hierarchy means The Guardians of the Race;
the soul is the Dreamer;
the Angel is the Luminous Cocoon;
the Presence is the Christ within;
The Angel of the Presence is the Dreamer made manifest upon earth, namely, incarnation as a Son of God, a Son of the Unspeakable;
aspirant is a hunter;
disciple is a warrior.
The Tibetan is one of the Guardians - a Scholar! LOL!
And now I read to you the Tibetan's call to service:
"I close with an appeal to all who read these instructions to rally their forces, to renew their vows of dedication to the service of humanity, to subordinate their own ideas and wishes to the group good, to take their eyes off themselves and fix them anew upon the vision, to guard their tongues from idle speech and criticism, from gossip and innuendo, and to read and study, so that the work may go intelligently forward. Let all students make up their minds in this day of emergency and of unfolding opportunity, to sacrifice all they have to the helping of humanity. Now is the need and the demand. The urgency of the hour is upon us, and I call upon all of you whom I am seeking to help, to join the effort of the Great Ones. They are working day and night in an effort to relieve humanity and to offset those evils and disasters which are immanent in the present situation. I offer to you opportunity, and I tell you that you are needed – even the very least of you. I assure you that groups of students working in unison, and with deep and unfaltering love for each other, can achieve significant results.
"That each of you may so work, and that each of you may lose sight of self in realisation of world need, is the earnest prayer and deepest aspiration of your brother, The Tibetan.
"Age-long identification with the form side of life is not easily over-come, and the task ahead of the disciple is a long and arduous one, but one which promises eventual success, provided there is clear thinking, earnest purpose, and planned scientific work.
"From them, (the disciples and aspirants), the WAY opens up, and for them comes the conscious recognition of the light. The need for the service of men and women, free from illusion and glamour, has never been so dramatically present as it is today, and it is for these potential servers of a desperate necessity that I have written.
"That the Angel of the PRESENCE may make His nearness felt, and inspire you to pass courageously through the fires of the burning ground, is my earnest prayer; that the fact of the PRESENCE may be sensed by you, and lead you to greater activity - once the burning ground is passed - is my deepest wish for you; and that the light may shine upon your way, and bring a certain and assured consummation of all the travail and struggle which has characterised your way of life, is my heart's desire for you. To more active and steady enterprise I call you.
"This series of text books of occultism, and of the occult forces which I have written, are intended to act as sign posts, and as beacon lights upon the way to knowledge. They contain hints and suggestions, but must be interpreted by each student according to the measure of light which is in him. Let him study what is going on around him in the light of the Plan, and of the knowledge here imparted, and let him seek to trace for himself the emergence of the instinctual psychical nature of Deity in world affairs and in his own life, for it is happening all the time. He must ever remember that he himself possesses a psychical nature which is a part of a greater whole, and, therefore, subject to impression from divine sources. Let him cultivate in himself the trend to synthesis; let him make the words, "I will not be separative in my consciousness", one of the key thoughts of his daily life.
"I will say no more at this time. I have sought to indicate that which should be possible. If my suggestions are followed, and if the work is carried forward diligently, there is every indication that the work of the Hierarchy and of the Christ, will be tremendously expedited. The need and the opportunity call for right understanding, and they demand also a joyful co-operation, and the sacrifice of yourselves and of your time and money, in the attempt to make our work possible.
"I make no further appeal for your help. I have been endeavouring to educate you in the new ideals, and in the work of the New Group of World Servers. The responsibility for right action, and for the effort to reach the public, rests upon the aspirants and disciples of the world who read these words. There is nothing that I, personally, can do. It is your time (and all of you, without exception, can give some) for which Christ and humanity are today calling. It is your activity and skill in reaching those you can reach, for which we make demand. It is your money that is needed to enable us to reach the interested public. It is your meditation and intense inner co-operation, which will construct that channel through which the spirit of peace can work, and the forces of Light enter. The Hierarchy waits. It has done all that is possible from the angle of Its opportunity. The Christ stands in patient silence, attentive to the effort that will make His work materialise on earth, and enable Him to consummate the effort He made 2,000 years ago in Palestine. The Buddha hovers over the planet, ready to play His part if the opportunity is offered to Him by mankind. I beg you to note what I here have said. Everything now depends upon the right action of the men of goodwill.
"We know that this is the hour of humanity's greatest opportunity, and that if men can pass triumphantly through this and (by the strength of their own souls) surmount this very present evil, then the evolution of humanity will be hastened beyond all that was believed possible. It will constitute a release, self-achieved and self-initiated. This means as much in the life of mankind as it means in the life of the individual disciple. That chance and that opportunity must not be taken from man; the gained spiritual and eternal values are of far greater importance than his temporary agony.
"Little as you may realise it as you think of Us in Our so-called safe retreats, the capacity of identification with all that is involved in world pain today, and the sensitivity of Those connected with the Hierarchy to the unhappy condition of humanity, makes Their task of standing-by one of supreme spiritual agony. They understand the depths of the reaction of humanity, They comprehend and understand; for They are one with all men. This involves a far greater comprehension than you can grasp, and one which can only be adequately expressed in the word "identification." They need the staunch support of all Their disciples, the steadfast love, the loyal attitude, the unquestioning response to human need which will enable Them to carry more easily the heavy burden which human karma has laid upon Them, and which They carry voluntarily.
"Will you give this? Will you aid Our work in every possible way, both as personalities, dedicated to service, and as souls who walk the lighted Way? The need of humanity for love and light, the need of the Hierarchy for channels and for those who will work under direction upon the earth, can call forth all that you have to give and can evoke your soul (the only true reward that the disciple seeks) in power and love. This will happen to you, if you will forget the little self.
"And so from stage to stage the disciple passes, going from light to light, from perception to perception, from force to energy, from personality focus to soul integration, and then, from soul to spirit, and from form to life. He has explored all the avenues of knowledge; he has descended into the depths, into hell and into the valleys; he has climbed the mountain top of initiation, and from there has swung out beyond space and time; he has lost all self-interest and is a focussed point of thought in the mind of God. Can I say more than this? I think not, my brothers. And so I bring to an end this series of instructions and my responsibility in this connection is ended. Yours now begins. All that I can hope and pray is that your individual will can be merged into the divine will, that revelation will be increasingly yours, and that you will with increased steadfastness tread the Path from darkness to light, and from death to immortality.
"May light and love and power shine upon your ways, and may you in due time and with as little delay as possible stand before the Initiator and join the ranks of Those Who - actively and consciously - love Their fellowmen, work as reconstructive and regenerative Energies, and forever - SERVE.
