In the teachings you often refer to total awareness. Can we think of this as meaning whole awareness?
In English the term "total" means not only the physical, emotional and mental being, but also the indwelling life and its awareness, whereas the term "whole" means instead the wholeness, or the well-being of the person concerned. So, for example, someone with a physical handicap, or with an emotional disorder or a mental challenge would be referred to as not being a whole person. It is therefore much better to think of total awareness as meaning entire awareness.
